Toledo Learning Center

EPP Ministries collaborates with those in Belize who are already working tirelessly to help serve individuals who are impacted by disabilities. EPP Ministries is set up to help fill the gaps where systems and resources are lacking.

Programs are designed to serve those impacted by disabilities as well as resource families, teachers & leaders to provide support for those in their remote villages.

The Toledo Learning Center is the first program of its kind in Toledo and is designed specifically to meet the unique learning needs of students impacted by disabilities.

Phase 1 construction was completed in summer of 2024 and the first classroom opened September 9, 2024!

Mrs. Thomas

Mrs. Thomas

Mrs. Thomas enjoys travelling and time with her family. She shares that being on a flight travelling around the world, or on the telephone with her granddaughter listening about her day, her favorite toy or just reading a book for grammy, will put the biggest smile on her face.?

Mrs. Thomas believes that every child deserves to be treated with dignity and respect, which is why she chose to work with children with special needs. Education serves as a fundamental pillar for fostering personal and social development, particularly for children with special needs. It is not just a means of academic achievement, but a critical pathway to improve the quality of life for all children. She?firmly believes that education opens doors to creating a better an inclusive society with children who can advocate for themselves for better living conditions.

As a Special Educator, Mrs. Thomas tailors the her instruction according to the uniqueness of every child, empowering them, building their confidence and creating an environment where ALL kids feel valued and respected.

Mrs. Thomas shares that at the end of service at The Learning Center, she will be known as the ?lady who serves.? The lady who believed that every child could learn regardless of their ability and provided the
necessary services to create a safe space for him or her to thrive. The lady with a passion for children who learn differently.

Mrs. Zuniga believes education for students with special needs is a cornerstone of a compassionate and inclusive society. It ensures that every individual, regardless of their abilities, has access to learning environments tailored to their unique strengths and challenges. By offering personalized educational experiences, Mrs.Zuniga helps EPP not only uphold the right to education for all, but also cultivates a society enriched by diversity and empathy.

Special education programs are instrumental in equipping students with vital life skills such as communication, independence, and self-advocacy, which are essential for their success beyond the classroom. Moreover, Mrs. Zuniga shares that teaching in this field is profoundly rewarding, providing opportunities to inspire, empower, and make lasting impacts on students’ lives.

As educators, our role extends beyond imparting knowledge to fostering a supportive environment where students feel valued and capable of achieving their potential. This commitment to inclusivity and empowerment paves the way for a future where all individuals can thrive and contribute meaningfully to their communities. Mrs. Zuniga also finds joy in activities like traveling, crafting, and cooking, which offer a balance of creativity and connection. These pursuits enhance her well-being and reflect the importance of both personal growth and social interaction in a fulfilling life.
